Description
Please note that colours on your screen maybe be different from colours in real life.
Most of the paintings contain fluorescent paint which doesn’t come across well on screen.
From the series ‘Fernweh’
My paintings often depict hills, mountains, sometimes water and often little white houses. Not without reason: it’s about ‘fernweh’: a longing for a place that isn’t home. The houses symbolise that for me. When I visited Scotland the landscapes were filled with white cottages and that image stuck with me. In British tradition white houses appear a lot in landscape paintings.
A longing for a place where life makes sense and a place to call home… It’s been a theme I’ve been working with since 2013, when I left the region I was born and grew up in. Home is something I will continue to look for. In places, in people and in experiences.
