General Terms and Conditions (online) workshops, classes and mentoring sessions

These terms and conditions are applied on any agreement with Marloes De Vries Illustration.
Before registering for an (online) workshop/class/session it's important to have read these. By registering you agree to these terms and conditions.

1: Acceptance of terms and conditions
1.1 These terms and conditions apply to all offers and agreements of participants and clients regarding workshops, course, classes, training, education and private classes.
1.2 An agreement with regard to following a course, workshop, training or education comes about by submitting an application form by client or participant and providing proof of registration by Marloes De Vries.

2: Registrations
2.1 All courses, workshops, mentoring sessions or classes are held subject to sufficient registrations.
2.2 Marloes De Vries reserves the right to change the location when necessary.
2.3 After registration, you will receive an (electronic) confirmation by e-mail that makes your registration final. Registration takes place in order of receipt of the applications.
2.4 Only a certain number of places are available per workshop. The number is between 8 and 15 participants per real life workshop, and between 10-100 participants for online workshops. As soon as a workshop or course is sold out, the registration is automatically closed and it is no longer possible to book a place via the website.
2.5 If a workshop is full, you can email us to register for the reserve list. Put in the subject of your e-mail 'reserve list [workshop or course]'. Please state your full name. If a place has become vacant, I will contact you.
2.6 The number of tickets you buy equals the number of participants. This applies to both on-site workshops and online classes and workshops. If you buy one ticket, this gives access for one person in a workshop. If you wish to participate with more than one person, one ticket per person should be purchased .
2.7 To participate in the workshop you must be at least 16 years old. Participants under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the workshop.
2.8 By registering you declare you agree with the general terms and conditions.

3: Cancellation by the participant
3.1 Unsubscribing must always be done via e-mail.
3.2 In case of cancellation for a workshop or course €10 administration costs will be deducted for Dutch banktransfers and €15 for international transfers, because receiving money through the system costs money.
3.3 Cancellation for a workshop (online classes excluded):
In the event of cancellation up to 14 days before the start date, the full amount will be refunded minus administration costs (see above). In case of cancellation from 14 to 7 days before the start date, 50% of the participation fee will be charged. Cancellations from 7 days before the workshop will not be refunded. If you do not appear during the workshop, no money will be refunded.
3.4 Cancellation for online workshops: Because online workshops will send you a link to the workshop materials almost immediately, there is no refund of participation fees if you cancel.
3.5 You are welcome to arrange a replacement in case you can't participate yourself in a real life workshop. Your participation confirmation is transferable but please notify us, including the name and email of the new participant.
3.6 In case you cancel participation in a workshop because you prefer to participate in another workshop, the above conditions apply. By e-mail you can indicate that you wish to exchange. This is only possible if there is sufficient space in the other workshop. This does not apply to online workshops, because in that case you receive the workshop materials almost immediately.

4: Cancellation/relocation by Marloes De Vries
4.1 Marloes De Vries is entitled to cancel the offered workshop or course if there are insufficient participants. If a workshop or course does not take place or is postponed, you will receive notice at the latest 7 days before the start.
4.2 Marloes De Vries is entitled to change the date of a workshop or course no later than two weeks before the start of the workshop or course. The course participant is informed by e-mail and has the opportunity to move or cancel the workshop free of charge of course.
4.3 Marloes De Vries is entitled in case of illness of the teacher to replace it with another teacher or to cancel the offered workshop or course. In the event of cancellation, the registration will be moved without charge to another date or cancelled and any course fees paid will be refunded.

5: Payment

5.1 Once payment has been transferred to Marloes De Vries' account, participation is confirmed. Until then, the participant's place is not guaranteed.
5.2 If the agreed partial payment terms are not met on time, this partial payment agreement will expire without any notice and participant can no longer claim it. If so, the entire claim shall become due and payable.
5.3 Should the participant have a discount code, they must enter it during the payment process in the webshop. After payment, discount codes can no longer be entered, nor will refunds be made to offset them.
5.4 All classes for sale on this website include 21% VAT. If you are based in the EU (outside the Netherlands) and need an invoice with the VAT shifted (0%), please contact us to arrange this before buying a ticket to a class.

6: Complaints
6.1 Do you have a complaint about a workshop or course? Please contact Marloes De Vries Illustration and we will do our best to be of service to you and try to solve the problem.
6.2 The submission of a complaint does not release the participant from the payment obligation.

7: Liability
7.1 Marloes De Vries accepts no liability for personal injury or damage to property of participants, nor any liability as a result of events during the workshop or course.
7.2 During a workshop there's a chance the participant will work with materials that can stain on clothing or items. Marloes De Vries is not liable for contaminated or damaged properties and will not compensate any damage.So please consider putting on old clothing when working with paint or ink, for example.

8: Secrecy
8.1 All workshop materials and additional documentation are protected by copyright and may not be copied, reproduced or otherwise reproduced and/or published. Making image recordings of (part of) a workshop or course material is not permitted. The participant is not entitled to exchange, transfer or publish contents received during the workshop to third parties or to give them in use.
8.2 Participants undertake to observe secrecy towards third parties of all information they receive from fellow participants during the meeting and of which the course participants must understand the confidential nature.

9: Other
9.1 Marloes De Vries always reserves the right to change the workshops and courses in terms of content and/or to change prices.
9.2 Parking costs and/or costs of public transport, if applicable, are at the expense of the participant.
9.3 If a participant causes hindrance during a workshop or course we have the right to remove this person from the workshop and refuse for subsequent workshops or lessons of the course. The participant will not receive their money back.
